A cycling referral scheme for people who are identified by their GP as fulfilling certain eligibility criteria.  They are introduced to a programme of structured cycling, including training and support.

Primary care sites throughout the borough, including GP surgeries and Health Centres.  Also accessible at Bike Works locations. The pilot was run in 2009, and the project is anticipated to run until 2011 at present.

To improve physical and mental health and wellbeing amongst residents in Tower Hamlets. To also encourage a modal shift in transport and attitudes to cycling within the borough.

Planning to release a report on the pilot project and will be reporting annually through the Healthy Borough Programme

There were no additional set up costs, as the projects running costs are estimated at 25,000 per annum
