Carbon Trust Survey

By: South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Trust

Established the trust energy management priorities and action plan.

£143K (Estimated)

1100 tonnes (Estimated)

The Carbon Trust undertook a multi-site survey of a sample of the SECAmb estate in 2008 with the aim to identify and prioritise up to 5 actions that can be taken by the organisation to improve its energy management effectiveness and 10 actions that can be taken by the organisation both generally and at site level to reduce energy costs and save carbon. Arising from the report, and that have been built into Trust plans going forward, are priority actions that fall into three main areas - energy management systems and procedures, energy saving opportunities that are applicable across all the sites and energy saving opportunities that are specific to the sites assessed.

Many of the recommendations are only achievable through reprovision of the old estate and that is not the Trust long term strategy. Some are dependent upon 3rd party actions.
