Reducing Paper Use - In the Workplace

By: South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Trust

The Trust expects to save money that would have otherwised been used purchasing paper

1100kg (Estimated)

The Trust recognises that our paper use contributes to our overall CO2 emissions so we have undertaken a program that will identify where our use of paper can be minimised or where it can be replaced completely by the use of email templates. We have so far identified and planned to replace a number of paper uses which across the Trust amount to approximately 60,000 pieces of A4 paper each year. According to our recently developed 'CO2 Paper Calculator' this reduction in paper will reduce our CO2 emissions by approximately 1100kg per year. We will be conducting a 3 month trial at one of our workplaces (which employs 30 staff) with a view to rolling out the scheme across the Trust thereafter.
