Video Conferencing

By: South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Trust

Less staff travelling to meetings, improved time management

The Trust faces major environmental challenges, as well as practical difficulties in co-ordinating the actions of key staff over an operational area of 3,500 square miles covering Kent, Surrey, Sussex and North Hampshire. To aid communication the Trust has made extensive use of fixed video conference suite facilities at strategic locations and, as old PCs need replacement, is now issuing all key managers with video equipped laptops that operate over the internet. This means managers can, for example, join a video conference from home.  These two measures have significantly reduced the need to travel to meetings.

Fixed video conference suite facilities at Lewes (Sussex), Coxheath (Kent) and Banstead (Surrey). Mobile video.

Reduce travel, environmental impact and cost.
