Carbon Management Programme

By: NHS Eastern and Coastal Kent

Establish a continual environmental improvement programme

The trust is currently participating in the carbon management programme run by the Carbon Trust. this will enable the Trust to set a target for its carbon reductions and give a clear message as to its commitment.

This will further ensure continuity within the Trust through the adoption of resilience principles of the continous operational delivery of healthcare services when faced with a range of disruptive challenges naely climate change.

Across all the sites within Eastern and Coastal Kent PCT

To demonstrate committment to the nhs sustainability agenda

Improvement schemes will be rolled out in ‘small chunks’ across the trust sites in all the areas identified. It is recognised that it is not practical or financially viable to achieve continual improvement across all areas. The areas to be targeted will be consistent with the environmental policy and be prioritised to address areas of highest risk.
